A man found dead in a hotel toilet in India has been identified as an IT professional who was working on a new product.
The body of the man was discovered in a toilet at a hotel in the eastern state of Madhya Pradesh, about 140km (75 miles) from the capital, New Delhi.
He was believed to have died in the early hours of Monday, state police spokesman Vinay Kumar said.
“The man was found in a bathroom with several others after the toilet was opened by a guest,” Kumar said on Saturday.
“We are investigating to ascertain what caused his death,” he added.
The hotel was closed for more than two hours on Saturday after the incident.
A post-mortem will be conducted, he added, adding that no arrests had been made.
“A formal complaint has been lodged with the local police station,” Kumar told AFP news agency.
Police have also opened a probe into the death of a man in a hospital toilet in a city in the north-eastern state of Uttar Pradesh, where he died in October.
