Here are a few tips for aspiring tech founders in the Valley: Get your business card stamped with the city name.
There are two different ways you can do this.
If you want to get a business card from the city, you can sign up for an online application at the City of Industry website.
Or, if you have an existing business and you’d like to start your own, you could do it in person, at a city-sponsored event.

If you don’t want to go to an event, or if you’re looking to start up locally, you should do both.
If your business has a mobile app, you might be able to get your business cards stamped with a QR code that you can scan at the city’s mobile-first headquarters, which is located on the Bayview.
The QR code will let you scan the QR code and the business card with your smartphone or tablet.
This can help you get your card approved quickly, since you won’t need to fill out a lengthy application form or fill out several forms to get it stamped.

Once you have a business cards, you’ll want to do something to get them stamped.
To make sure you get the right business cards at the right time, the City Plan Department offers three different types of business cards.
You can buy one from your city’s 311 office.
Alternatively, you may be able get a printed card from your local city hall.
The City Plan website also has a downloadable card that will help you find a local business card printer.
You should always be able find a card from an office you know well.
The city should have an office on hand that has the proper printer.
The card you buy should have a printed image of the business, with the business name on the front.
The printed image is the one that will be stamped on your business.

The City of Berkeley also has two different types, one for businesses with 10 employees and one for smaller businesses.
If the office has a large number of employees, you need to print one from the local library.
For smaller businesses, you must get a custom-printed card from a printing service.
To find a printing firm that will print your business’s business card, go to www.cityplan.berkeley.gov/businesscard and follow the steps on the website.
If none of the companies you choose have the right printer, you will need to get the appropriate card from another company.
For example, you’d want to print a business-card for a restaurant that has 20 employees.
Once the card is printed, the business must get it approved from the City Clerk’s Office.

Make sure you apply for the right one.
If it’s a small business, you’re likely to get rejected.
If there are many applicants, the rejection rate could be higher.
If all applicants get rejected, the city may not have enough business cards for all applicants.
The rejection rate is also higher for applicants who want to have the business license as a proof of ownership.
If this is the case, the company can have the card issued as a document of ownership, so you’ll have to have a copy of the card in your possession for a year after the business closes.
In this case, you shouldn’t bother applying for the business-license as proof of your ownership.
It may take several years for the card to become a proof-of-ownership, and the process may take a long time.
So, the more applicants you have, the longer the process.
For business cards that are valid for 10 years or more, the most common process for getting a license is to fill in a form with your business name, address, phone number, and a few other details, such as the company’s name, website, and social media accounts.
